FROGS SANCTUARY, PORT PHILIP, VIC

This sanctuary is designed to provide a safe, healthy, sustainable, and inclusive environment for the Australian Whistling Tree Frog , local native plant species, and people. It intends to function as a base for the frogs to refuge, live, breed and propagate. It also promotes a harmonious coexistence between humans and wildlife, encouraging interaction within shared blue and green spaces. The design thoughtfully responds to the site’s natural landscape and prioritizes the spatial and ecological needs of the creature. Also, it offers a welcoming and accessible recreational space for rangers, visitors of all ages, and people of all abilities. By integrating habitat conservation with human engagement, sanctuary fosters environmental awareness, supports biodiversity, and creates opportunities for education, relaxation, and community connection within a resilient and adaptive landscape.

Redesign of Glass House

The famous glass house (casa de vidro) designed by Italian engineer Lina de Bordi was re-modeled in 3D and then printed with a 3D printer. This house, which was the first design of the engineer, is a symbol of modern engineering and has great cultural and historical value.

Note:
At that time, there were no current computer-aided design (CAD) tools, and this building was designed with pen and paper, which is relatively illegible. However, using relatively accurate methods, the dimensions of the house were estimated and modeled.
